Welcome to the Little Wonders collection by Fat Cat Originals, where doodles have escaped my sketchbook, acquired three dimensions, and end up answering to names like Susan, Bert and Reginald. Why? Excellent question. I have no explanation. They have no explanation. We're all just going to have to live with it.
Each Little Wonder is a one-of-a-kind piece of handmade wearable art, individually created from my doodles using polymer clay, colour, texture and a healthy disregard for being ordinary.
These aren't mass-produced accessories. They're tiny, character-filled artworks made to bring a little burst of colour, personality and whimsy wherever they go.
Meet the first five members of the Little Wonders family:
🐌 Bert: sporting an enormous, sky blue, spiral shell… and absolutely no intention of rushing anywhere. Bert’s ommatophores (AKA eyestalks) are fashioned from sterling silver.
🐝 Susan: fluffy-faced, wide-eyed and doing her own thing. Susan has declined to explain herself. But she would like you to know that she has wings made of brass wire.
🐦 Harriet: a bright pink bird with coppery details and a rather distinctive sense of style.
🍄 Shroomtown: a gloriously spotted little toadstool bringing a pop of colour to proceedings.
🦁 Reginald: a rather magnificent lion with a magnificent shimmering mane and the relaxed expression of someone who has absolutely nothing to prove.
Every piece is individually handmade, so each has its own character and details. There are no identical duplicates waiting in a production line.
