Found some beautifully vibrant vintage linen tea towels fabric from the 1970’s; some with a bright geometric patterns and the other pieces with huge floral images. The colors are classic 1970’s screen printed vibrant red, yellow, blue, some pink and so on and the fabric is the beautiful quality linen that was more common in that era.
So, out came the 1980’s pull on elasticized unisex pants pattern with the full pant and tucked around the ankle. These pants are 42” (107cm) from waist to ankle, feature side and rear pockets and belt loops. The elasticized waist will fit a 12 to 14.
The matching shirt is made from striped linen tea towels and the colors are a perfect match with the pants. It has a shorter front and longer back, concealed buttons and long sleeves that are intended to be slightly rolled up the forearm. I have styled the collar sitting up, as well as folded. There is hand embroidery on the collar and the left rear back of the shirt.
The green buttons are all vintage.
This is a great ensemble to wear to a festival, on holiday or to a party.
