This handmade ceramic Serving Platter Set, carefully built from rolled out clay, is designed to bring beauty and simplicity to everyday dining, but is elegant enough to use for special occasions.
With a raised rim it is somewhere between a Bowl & a Plate - known as a Modern Blate.
Hand built from black, mid-fire stoneware clay, pressed with a wooden roller to create a floral decoration, allowed to dry slowly for 2 weeks before it is bisque fired and finally finished in a translucent white glaze before it is fired a 2nd time.
The Glaze pools within the surface textures to feature the floral pattern of the beautiful Echinacea (Coneflower) that adds depth and character to this unique, high rimmed plate.
The Set consists of 4 pieces with the largest being 28 cm wide. It is the perfect size for serving shared dishes at the table like pasta. meats and salads. Also perfect for cheeses, fruit, pastries & chips. The smaller sizes also are multipurpose and can be used individually or in combinations. The soft raised rim helps keep food in place while giving the plate a clean, elegant profile.
