Description

Hello! and welcome to my shop.
Each of these quirky images have been created from my photographs from my travels.  I have decluttered them and stylised in Photoshop, then placed them in new environments, allowing us to see them in a different light. My subjects are usually architectural or quirky objects.

Galahs (pink and grey), black, and white cockatoos, are plentiful in the Australian urban and outback environments. Often perched on a powerline or crowding single trees.I have teamed these with some abandoned buildings of the outback town of Silverton New South Wales as their resting places.

The skies were photographed from an approaching storm in my hometown of Cairns.

On a Hot Tin Roof

Since Galahs are Australian icons, this image needed an Australian sounding name. Two are resting on the roof of this old house, possibly discussing the impending storm, others getting ready to start a meeting!

The birds were captured in Silverton, NSW, in situ on this tree outside a café.

The foreground landscape is from just outside Broken Hill. Building also from Silverton.

A Crackling Congregation

Like a scene from the Kill Bill movie, this cockatoo chaos about the church, a normally serene place, has added drama teamed with the approaching storm.

The birds were captured in a frenzy in Tolga, QLD and foreground plus church are from Silverton.

Squatters

Typically in Australia, a crackle or mob of black cockatoos indicates a storm coming, so it seemed apt to have a dark stormy background sky.

Here some have taken up residence in this abandoned remnant stone house, resting on its top edge, as others flutter about noisily as warning to the coming storm.

The birds were spotted in Hughenden, QLD captured in 2 shots, the first with them sitting on a fence, and the second as they took off and joined the mob.
