A little taste of childhood

There’s something special about the food we remember from childhood.

For me, it brings back memories of baking with Grandma on the farm, enjoying homemade treats around the kitchen table, and always having something freshly baked to look forward to. Those familiar flavours become part of our childhood memories — the treats we enjoyed at home, shared with family, or picked up from the local bakery.

And for children, food can become part of play too.

A cake slice becomes something to serve at a pretend café. A bakery is set up on the playroom floor. Teddy bears and dolls are invited to afternoon tea, and little hands busy themselves taking orders, choosing treats and serving their guests.

The Aussie Bakery Collection was created with that kind of play in mind — giving children beautiful, familiar treats to incorporate into their own little worlds of imaginative play.

These handmade crochet cake slices are available in eight flavours:

Each cake slice measures approximately 13cm long × 9cm wide × 4–6cm high, depending on the toppings.

Crocheted using 100% cotton yarn and filled with Australian sheep’s wool, each slice is carefully handmade with attention to detail. All decorative toppings are securely hand sewn to the top of the cake.

These are made to order, with an estimated processing time of up to 3 days per slice.

Choose one or two of your favourite flavours, or for the ultimate bakery experience, collect all eight and arrange them together to create a whole cake — eight slices, eight different flavours and plenty of opportunities for imaginative play.
