A piece of San Francisco's history, transformed into wearable art.
This distinctive, one-of-a-kind ring has been handcrafted from an authentic vintage Towle sterling silver souvenir spoon celebrating San Francisco's historic Chinatown district.
The original spoon features a beautifully detailed architectural scene, with traditional buildings, distinctive rooflines and decorative lettering. Carefully reshaped into a statement ring, the design wraps around the finger, preserving the character and craftsmanship of the original silverware.
Made by Towle Silversmiths of Newburyport, Massachusetts, a renowned American silver manufacturer established in 1882, the spoon carries a rich heritage. The original Towle maker's mark and STERLING hallmark remain visible inside the band, providing a tangible connection to its past.
I have individually shaped, refined and polished the ring in my Adelaide Hills studio, creating a comfortable fit while retaining the original decorative details and the character of the vintage silver.
With its striking architectural design and connection to one of America's most recognisable cities, this ring is an unusual and meaningful piece for lovers of travel, history, vintage silver and jewellery with a story.
By giving an old silver spoon a new purpose, this ring celebrates sustainable craftsmanship and the enduring beauty of objects from another time.
