Description
This stunning barrel-shaped handbag with vintage styling has been made from a piece of woven fabric in bright multicolours. The feature asymmetrical flap is a piece of woollen suiting fabric in bright teal blue. Both of these fabrics were found in my local op shop.
It is lined with bright rainbow fabric cut from a pair of pants and the bright pinky-red feature button is a vintage coat button.
The flap closes with a magnetic snap and the it has an internal double slip pocket.
It has fused interfacing inside of it which makes it semi-structured - it stands without collapsing but is still relatively soft and is very light to carry. This is such a great size for an everyday bag, and is very easy to use.
Size: 22cm across top and bottom, widening to 30cm across the middle. 26cm high, and approximately 10cm deep front to back at the bottom. The strap is 100cm long. When worn on the shoulder, the bag sits about hip height as you can see in the pictures.
This bag was made using The Bawdsey Bag pattern, designed by Emma Brennan for Charlie’s Aunt patterns.
