Description

This is the second frame from the Star Forming Triptych.
If you step outside on a clear night and glance up, you might just see what looks like a long kite in the sky. That's Orion's Belt. And, just to the side of the bottom-most star there's a fuzzy patch. It's the home to some of the most recognisable nebula in our night sky. Orion's nebula, Running Man and the Horse Head nebula. Those are charged areas of space among many, many others that are also active star forming regions. Parts of our galaxy that are forming stars that will come together and shine, then fly apart with unimaginable intensity. And so why should we care? We care because the iron in our blood that carries the life-giving oxygen, and the calcium in our bones are just two examples of things that were not created here on earth. They were created through stars exploding. We are star dust.
This is a print on professional photograph paper from the original work that was acrylic on thick paper. It ships framed in a 23cm x 13cm x 1.5cm frame.
