There are things in our world that are fundamental; indivisible, irreducible elements of our existence... and then there is what emerges from those foundations. I don't think time is fundamental. It's real, we know it and we govern our day to day lives around it. But... it's an emergent property of a universe that is an unimaginably complex web of cause and effect. Think of a simple flow chart... I did this, then that happened, then the next decision point, then the next action. Now imagine this playing out in a computer that operates at the speed of light. That, to me, is our existence. This triptych was conjures the idea of being nestled at the root of the tree of cause and effect giving rise to everything we know and love.
This is a print on professional photograph paper from the originals that were three separate acrylic on thick paper works. It ships framed in a 43cm x 23cm x 4cm frame.
