These tiny compositions began as a personal journal, a way to distil the many ideas moving through my mind into something small, intentional, and complete. I created each Petite Bloom Keepsake by layering luminous watercolour inks, shaping florals in gouache, and refining details in coloured pencil. The result is a miniature composition that feels intimate and precious.
Historically, artists painted small original works (2.5 × 3.5 inches) to exchange with one another. They are now known as ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions & Originals). My pieces are similar in size at 6.5 × 9 cm and I prefer to call them Petite Bloom Keepsakes since they are designed to endure beyond a moment and are so collectable! Petite Bloom Keepsakes can be framed, displayed on a small easel, placed on a desk or shelf, or kept as a personal art keepsake to enjoy in quiet moments.
