All my quilts are designed, cut, pieced and quilted solely by me. I select the fabric and let it talk to me about what the outcome should be. Often the outcome changes as the process evolves. I had this range of masculine prints and what looked like a dull bundle of 2.5 inch strips which, put together, made magic.
Solid blocks are alternated with batik checkerboards, running from light to dark across or down the quilt. Coloured in greys, slates, teals, blues and browns, this quilt highlights guitars, sporting equipment, and tools. The backing is a medium brown depicting men's shoes, clothing and ties. The quilt is a good sized double bed topper or will extend down the sides of a king single bed.
This is suitable for teenage boys through to grandads; or anyone really.
Total size is 180cms square. 100% quality patchwork cotton on the front and back with a 50/50 cotton/poly wadding. Quilting is a geometric block pattern. Although the wadding is preshrunk, there will always be a natural, slight shrinkage when first washed.
