This one-of-a-kind handmade clay character is underglazed in soft white washes to enhance texture and detail. She holds a tiny black bird finished with a delicate gold lustre beak and has another on her head. Her face is left unglazed and matt, contrasted by small glazed eyes and gentle pouty lips and her own little gold lustre beak. She has a small bowl designed head, created from a pinch pot. The perfect size for a tealight.
Standing approximately 15 cm tall, this piece is carefully handbuilt and finished in my studio in beautiful rural Wellard. Each character is unique, celebrating quiet expression, craftsmanship and a sense of story—perfect as a thoughtful art piece or collector’s object.
