Wheel-thrown pestle and mortar sets in speckled midfire stoneware, finished with a dark malachite green and ocean spray glaze

Both the bowl and pestle are wheel-thrown, giving each set a natural weight, balance and fit that feels right in the hand. The speckled stoneware shows flashes of iron and bloom, adding warmth and depth beneath the glaze. Burnished, and finished with carving using Jurassic coastal stone.

Sized to fit easily into any kitchen, they’re made for grinding spices, herbs and small everyday blends, functional pieces with a quiet coastal feel.
