Handmade Ceramic Berry Strainer
A beautiful, functional piece of handmade pottery created to bring a little joy to everyday rituals.
This unique ceramic berry strainer is handmade from Australian Stoneware clay, with the bowl wheel-thrown and carefully altered by hand. An easy-to-hold handle makes it lovely to use, while the half-lid features 16 hand-drilled drainage holes for gently rinsing and draining fresh berries.
The soft, organic surface is finished with layers of green tea and soft white glazes, beneath a food-safe gloss finish. The lid has been given a beautiful tactile texture using a hand-carved roller. Red iron oxide has been applied and washed back, with white gloss glaze layered over the top to accentuate the rustic, textural character.
I love the combination of the delicate glaze colours and earthy texture — a piece that is as lovely sitting on your kitchen bench as it is useful in the kitchen.
