Hi I'm Christine, the maker behind Yarn About Yarn. 

I'm a weaver based in the beautiful Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, where the natural landscape provides endless inspiration.

I began weaving in 2009, first working with frame and rigid heddle looms. As my practice has evolved, so has my collection of looms. I am especially inspired by a freeform style of weaving, where spontaneity is encouraged and imperfections are embraced as part of the creative process. This philosophy aligns closely with the way I work, allowing each piece to develop naturally and without constraint.

   Materials and Inspiration

• As well as the external environment, my work is deeply influenced by the yarns I've collected over the years.
• I'm also drawn to the colours and unique textures of materials I source from op shops and other repurposed yarns.
• These materials come together in my weaving to create one-of-kind scarves, wall hangings, garments and jewellery pieces.

• My range is always expanding as I experiment with new techniques.
• I believe in the beauty of slow fashion, focusing on creating unique handmade items for you and your home, or as gifts for friends and family.
