Hi, I’m Susie, the hands and heart behind Woven Earth Co.

My journey started with a few leftover fibres, a blank canvas and a whole lot of curiosity. I began experimenting, playing with different textures and colours, and seeing what happened when I let go of the need to have a plan. Somewhere along the way, I discovered my own unique form of fibre art, and with it, a kind of freedom I hadn’t expected to find.

What I love most isn’t just the finished artwork. It’s the process of creating it. Getting lost in the moment, following an idea, changing my mind and sometimes surprising myself with what comes together. No two pieces are ever quite the same because I don’t work from templates or pictures. I let each piece unfold as I go.

As my love for creating grew, I wanted to share it with others. That led to my Weave & Unwind workshops, where I’ve had the joy of watching people experiment, trust themselves and discover what they’re capable of creating when they stop worrying about getting it right.

Through those workshops, I realised just how much I wanted to share this experience beyond the people who could join me in person. And that’s where the idea for my DIY kits was born.

I wanted to find a way for people to experience the same freedom and joy of creating in their own homes, in their own time. Each kit comes with the materials and tools to get you started, along with video tutorials to guide you along the way. But there’s one thing you won’t find inside: a template or a picture to copy. Because the whole idea is to make something that’s yours, not a recreation of mine.

Alongside my original handmade fibre artworks, these kits are my way of sharing what I’ve come to love so much about creating — the freedom to experiment, the joy of discovering something new and the reminder that you don’t have to be an artist to make something beautiful.

I’m based in the beautiful Whitsundays in Queensland, where I continue to create, experiment and find inspiration in the textures, colours and world around me.
