Welcome to violets in may. The name violets in may conjures up many memories of my mother, Violet May. She was always a strong support to me growing up and well into my adult years. She would have been proud to have had this venture named after her and to see me follow my dream of setting up this business. I am based in Melbourne, Australia, and live with my cat, Regis. His interest in my creative pursuits is limited to the boxes that my stock comes in and the occasional finding that falls on the floor and becomes a favourite toy.

violets in may has a range of fused glass jewellery and glass homewares, carefully created for colour and form.

Like many before me, I started in jewellery by stringing beads. My first foray was to create a treasure chest full of coloured and sparkling jewels for my niece’s 21st birthday. This introduction sparked an interest colour and design and the possibilities of using different materials and forms. A number of short courses later, in precious metal clay (PMC), metal working and glass, have further spurred my interest and curiosity. I enjoy all facets of jewellery making and glass fusing, especially the flexibility of PMC and the colours and unpredictability of glass.
