My name is Libby and I am The Enamel Animal. I melt fine grains of glass onto metal to create shiny, colourful, wearable works of art.
The cloisonné enamelling process is very time consuming. It involves shaping and doming metal and applying fine layers of glass within a design made from thin silver wire. Each layer is fired at high temperatures and the finished enamel is ground back and polished to create a durable, jewel-like finish.
