Growing up on Western Australia's Coral Coast, Mel was immersed in landscapes of striking colour and contrast. The pink shimmer of salt lakes, intricate coral gardens, windswept dunes, turquoise oceans, and sunburnt cliffs continue to echo through her work. These natural elements inform her bold palettes, layered textures, and organic forms, creating pieces that feel deeply connected to both memory and place.
Working across painting and mixed media, Mel's art explores the relationship between landscape, emotion, and belonging. Her work is an invitation to pause, reconnect with the natural world, and reflect on the ways place becomes woven into identity.
