Old surf kites, new life. Hi, I’m Richard, the maker behind Recycling in the Breeze. From my workshop in Torquay, I turn retired surf kites and wind wings into tough, lightweight duffle bags for the beach, the gym and nights away.
It started with my own mission to cut back on soft plastic and throwaway items, and grew into a way to rescue ripstop nylon from kites that can no longer fly. Ripstop is built to handle wind and salt, so it makes bags that cope with whatever you throw at them.
Every bag is handmade, so no two are the same. Colours and patterns vary, and each one is perfectly imperfect. You’re buying a bag with a story, made locally from material that would otherwise have gone to landfill.

Delivery Times: 2 to 3 days
Where possible items will be shipped in a custom made envelope that if unpicked correctly will reveal an additional re-usable pouch.
We offer refunds for faulty items in line with Australian Consumer Law. Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.
