I’m Abby, an early childhood teacher, mum and the hands behind Paperbark Play. Inspired by nature, storytelling and the magic of open ended play, I create one of a kind wool playscapes that invite children to explore, imagine and bring their own stories to life.
Each playscape begins with wool sourced from other small Australian businesses and is wet felted by hand to form the foundations of the landscape. From there, I slowly build up the colours, textures and three dimensional details through needle felting, bringing each little world to life one detail at a time.
No two pieces are ever quite the same. Every Playscape is thoughtfully created to spark curiosity, encourage storytelling and leave plenty of room for little imaginations to wander.
