Welcome to Mia Wend Art — the colourful, slightly unpredictable world of contemporary abstract art by Melbourne artist Mia Wend.
I create original abstract paintings and handmade pieces inspired by colour, movement, texture and the beautiful chaos of creating without always knowing where the journey will lead.
My work includes one-of-a-kind original paintings as well as smaller handmade pieces and homewares, including jewellery, gifts and decor. Many of my creations begin with paint, ink or leftover fragments from another artwork, giving them a new life rather than letting beautiful pieces go to waste.
I believe art doesn't have to be explained to be meaningful. The beauty of abstract art is that you can see something completely different in it from the person standing next to you — and that's exactly how it should be.
Everything is designed and handmade by me in Australia, with a little bit of colour, a lot of experimentation and, occasionally, absolutely no idea what I'm doing until the paint tells me.

Giving Packaging a Second Life
Wherever possible, we reuse clean, suitable packing materials rather than sending them to landfill. Your order may arrive in packaging that has had a previous life — because we think that’s better than throwing perfectly good materials away.

Change of mind
I do not accept returns or provide refunds for change-of-mind purchases. This includes deciding that you no longer want the item, changing your mind about the colour or style, or finding the item unsuitable for your needs.
Faulty or damaged items
All Mia Wend Art products are handmade with care and are checked before being sent. If your item arrives faulty or damaged, please contact me as soon as possible.
To help me assess the issue, please send clear photographs of the item and the packaging within 7 days of receiving your order, together with your order details and a brief description of the problem.
If the item needs to be returned for assessment, the buyer is responsible for securely packing and initially arranging and paying the return postage, unless otherwise required under the Australian Consumer Law.
Once the item has been assessed, if it is found to have a fault covered by the Australian Consumer Law, I will provide the appropriate remedy and reimburse reasonable return postage costs where required.
Depending on the nature of the problem, the remedy may include a repair, replacement or refund.
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. Statutory consumer guarantees continue to apply.
Please contact me before returning any item so I can provide return instructions.
