Welcome to Lily’s Handmade Art store.

Lily creates each artwork by hand in Australia using soft pastels and traditional art materials. Her paintings are inspired by peaceful landscapes, nature, night skies and meaningful moments.

In April 2025, Lily experienced a severe brain stroke that dramatically changed her life. Before her stroke, she was right-handed. The stroke significantly affected the right side of her body, and she can no longer use her right hand to draw or paint.

As part of her recovery, Niloo began learning to create art using her left hand.

Every painting in this store has therefore been drawn, blended and carefully finished with the hand that was once her non-dominant hand. What began as part of her recovery has gradually become a way for her to express herself, develop new skills and regain a sense of independence.

Creating a single artwork can require considerable patience and concentration, but Niloo continues to practise and develop her own style with every piece she makes.

Each artwork is individually handmade. These are genuine physical artworks—not digital prints or mass-produced products. Some of Lily’s earlier pieces were created while learning pastel techniques through online tutorials, and these are described transparently where applicable.

I (her husband) assist Lily with the administrative side of the store, including listings, customer communication and arranging orders, while the artworks themselves are created by Niloo.
