Meet Helen| The Maker Behind Kiln & Co.
Handmade ceramics inspired by the coast and natural world.
I’m the maker behind Kiln & Co., creating individual handmade ceramics in Western Australia.
My journey has always been connected to creativity and the ways art brings people together. With a background in arts psychotherapy, disability and mental health, I have a deep appreciation for creativity as a way of connecting, expressing and finding wellbeing.
Three years ago, I found my way to clay and discovered a passion for pottery. I love the freedom of working with my hands, experimenting with different techniques and never quite knowing what will emerge.
My work combines wheel throwing and handbuilding, exploring flowing organic forms, sculptural shapes and natural textures inspired by the coast, marine life, botanical forms and the landscape around me.
My signature collection, Coastal Botanica, brings these influences together through distinctive forms and expressive glaze combinations. I particularly love layering glazes and embracing the unexpected results that emerge from the kiln. Sometimes the most beautiful details are the ones you could never have planned.
Why choose Kiln & Co.?
Every piece is individually made by hand, with its own character, shape and finish. I don’t strive for perfect uniformity. I love the natural variations, subtle imperfections and unexpected details that make handmade ceramics special.
When you purchase from Kiln & Co., you’re choosing an original piece created with time, care and a genuine love of the process. You’re also supporting an independent Australian maker and the value of handmade.
Thank you for being here and supporting my little creative journey.
Shaped by nature. Created by hand. Naturally unique.
