The Story Behind Journals by Dani
Nestled in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, Journals by Dani grew from my love of nature, creativity, and the simple joy of making things slowly and with intention.
In a world that often feels busy and fast-paced, my creative process begins when I step away from the computer, take some time for myself, and reconnect with the natural world around me. It is in these quiet moments—walking outdoors, noticing the delicate imprint of a leaf, the texture of bark, the changing colours of the seasons—that I find inspiration.
These moments of stillness flow into my work through botanical eco-printing, solar printing, hand binding, felting, ceramics, and mixed media artwork. Each creation is a reflection of my surroundings and my fascination with the textures, patterns, and quiet beauty found in nature.
My Coptic stitch journals are individually bound by hand using traditional techniques, with covers featuring my original solar prints and eco-printed botanical designs. My scarves and soft pouches are created using natural dyeing methods, capturing the unique impressions of local leaves and flowers. Through felting, ceramics, and artwork, I continue to explore the connection between natural materials, creativity, and mindful making.
Every piece is one of a kind—not because it is designed to be different, but because handmade work naturally carries its own story. The marks, textures, and small variations are reminders that it has been thoughtfully created by hand rather than produced by a machine.
The greatest joy in creating is knowing that something I have made with care finds its way into someone else's life. Whether it becomes a journal filled with thoughts and memories, a scarf worn on special occasions, a piece of art that brings beauty into a home, or a handmade object enjoyed every day, I feel incredibly grateful that my work can become part of another person's story.
For me, handmade is about connection: a connection to nature, to creativity, and to the people who choose to bring a little piece of that journey home with them.

Note that it is difficult to capture the exact colour in the photos and therefore the colours may vary from the photos online. Products are handmade and the eco printing process in some of my products means that patterns won't be uniform. Slight creases and imperfections in the raw fabric with scarves may be present and are the nature of the items which give beautiful and unique character.
Change-of-mind returns are not accepted.
If an item is damaged or faulty, please contact us within 2 days of receiving the item to arrange a replacement, repair, or refund. Proof of purchase and photographs of the issue will be required. Return postage will be at the buyer's expense. Australia Post covers insurance on items if damaged on transit.
