Welcome to Irene Rudan — Textile & Mixed Media Art

I am an Australian textile and mixed-media artist based on the Central Coast of New South Wales.

My work explores colour, texture, symbolism and the possibilities of combining traditional textile techniques with unexpected materials.

I create original, one-of-a-kind artworks using silk, wool, felt, velvet, embroidery, papers, beads and found objects. Each piece develops intuitively, allowing the materials, colours and textures to influence its direction.

My collection includes wearable textile art, individually designed brooches, sculptural felt bowls and pieces from my Living Vessels of Light collection.

My artistic practice dates back to the 1990s and continues to evolve through experimentation with textiles, mixed media and surface embellishment.

Every artwork is individually handmade in my Central Coast studio. No two pieces are identical, and each carries its own character and story.

Every original artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and an individual artist statement, offering an insight into the inspiration and ideas behind each piece.
