Happy Scrappy Knick Knacks

I have been sewing nearly all my life. I learned at about the age of 6 from my paternal grandmother, me sitting at the end of her sewing table. Her on her flash new electric Singer & me on her old hand crank.

We lived very close to each other on our wheat & sheep farm in rural Western Australia. Close enough for me to sneak across the paddock whenever I got the chance. After we’d collected the eggs (me scrambling under the sheds) & been mushrooming amongst the cows we’d head for the sewing room. But not before a scrumptious morning tea.

I now have 6 grandchildren of my own who are showing an interest in learning to sew but especially love rifling through my fabric collection to choose their next project for me to make.

Having done local markets for ten years I’ve covered quite a range of products.

I make a huge variety of items: children’s clothes, hats, household items, bags & knitted garments.
