Born in Currumbin, on the Southern Gold Coast, Currumbin Beach Bums was created from my love of the water and the lifestyle that comes with it.
I bodyboard, swim, spend time at the beach and generally feel most at home around the ocean. I wanted to create clothing that is not only functional (who needs a towel) but also captures that easy, carefree way of life, while being practical and stylish enough for the beach and beyond.
Currumbin Beach Bums is handmade, upcycled beachwear created from recycled and pre-loved terry towelling. Instead of letting good fabric go to waste, I give it a new life as clothing that is comfortable, fun and made to be enjoyed.
Every piece is individually designed and handmade by me in Currumbin. No mass production, no identical collections, just thoughtful combinations of colour, pattern and texture that give each garment its own character. From shorts and skirts to dresses and wraps, these are easy pieces made for throwing on after a swim, heading to the beach, lounging around or taking wherever the day leads.
It’s beachwear with a difference, made locally and made to be worn. A small footprint with plenty of personality.
