Hi, I'm Kylie, the maker behind Butterfly Cards & Gifts, a small handmade business based in Canberra, Australia.
I believe that practical doesn't have to be boring, and that the best products are the ones that are reached for every day.
My love of creating comes from a simple idea: There has to be a better way. Many of my sewing designs begin with a conversation with family, friends or customers. Someone has a problem, a frustration or an idea, and I start experimenting with ways to solve it. I design, make prototypes, test different approaches and refine the details until I'm happy with the result. From useful pouches and bags to clever everyday accessories, each product is designed with real-life use in mind.
I'm also passionate about cross stitch and helping others discover the joy of making something by hand. I've developed a range of cross-stitch kits designed to help beginners get started and build their skills and confidence as they progress. Through my cross-stitch community on Instagram, I share tips, techniques and ideas, and connect with fellow stitchers who love this wonderfully satisfying craft.
Every product I make reflects the same philosophy: it should have a purpose, be thoughtfully designed and be made with care. From developing the original idea to making, checking and packaging the finished product, I'm personally involved in the process.
For me, handmade isn't just about making something from scratch. It's about putting thought into the little details, finding better ways to do things and creating products people genuinely enjoy using.

Ready to ship in Orders will be shipped within 3-5 business days. (business days)

Delivery Times: 5-7 Business Days - Please allow additional days for regional areas and peak times
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
Eligibility for Returns
To be eligible for a return:
- Your item must be in the same condition that you received it
- Unworn or unused
- With tags (if applicable)
- In its original packaging
- Accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase
Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Return Shipping Costs
Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect.
We recommend using a tracked shipping service, as we are not responsible for returns that are lost in transit. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us immediately if:
- The item is defective
- The item is damaged
- You received the wrong item
We will assess the issue and work with you to resolve it as quickly as possible.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If a product is faulty, damaged, or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
We do not accept returns on:
- Custom or personalised items
- Special order products
- Sale items
- Gift cards

Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges.
If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item (subject to approval) and place a new order once your return has been processed.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.
If approved:
- Refunds will be processed to your original payment method
- Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear in your account
