Welcome to my little creative world!
I’ve always loved the idea of making things, but my journey into jewellery making and silversmithing came later in life. In 2016, I took a silversmithing course and discovered something I absolutely loved. One course led to another, and before long I had created my own little workshop in the garage!
Since then, I’ve happily immersed myself in the world of metals, tools, textures and techniques. I’m fascinated by the possibilities of making, and I love experimenting with different materials and discovering what happens when you bring unexpected things together. Silver, brass, copper, shells, sea glass, broken china, ceramics and even clay all find their way into my creative adventures.
I particularly enjoy working with materials that have their own character and history. Some of my sea glass is collected from the beach and tumbled by me, while fragments of broken china and ceramic are carefully cut, shaped and incorporated into my designs.
I’m not someone who always starts with a precise plan. I love the freedom of experimenting and allowing a piece to evolve as I work. Sometimes the most interesting results are the ones I didn’t anticipate!
My jewellery is handmade, organic and occasionally imperfect. I embrace those little irregularities because I believe they give each piece its own personality. For me, it’s about curiosity, creativity and finding beauty in the unexpected.
Little by little, I began to think that perhaps these creations might find a home with someone else who appreciates the unusual, the handmade and the one of a kind.
And so, bijouxatous came to life.
