Aarde Botanicals

Aarde began with a simple desire to be more mindful about what I put on my skin and the skin of the people I love.

As I entered perimenopause, I started making my own skincare to nurture my changing skin. I wanted simple, thoughtfully chosen ingredients that I felt comfortable using on my children and grandchildren, too. What began as something personal soon grew into a passion.

With Dutch heritage, the name Aarde felt like a natural fit. It means earth in Dutch, reflecting the connection to nature that sits at the heart of everything I create.

As an Ayurvedic massage therapist, I was also seeing many clients experiencing skin and hair concerns. It felt like a natural extension of my work to begin creating handmade products that brought together my love of botanicals, traditional wisdom and thoughtful self-care.

I started gifting my creations to family, friends and clients. Their encouragement and lovely feedback gave me the confidence to share them with a wider community.

Today, Aarde Botanicals is my homegrown collection of handcrafted soaps and botanical body and hair care. Every product is made by me, by hand, in my home workspace in Gippsland. From selecting ingredients to mixing, pouring, cutting and carefully preparing each creation, I take pride in being part of every step.

I believe there is something special about slowing down, keeping things simple and being more mindful of what we use on our skin. My hope is that each Aarde creation brings a little of that feeling into your everyday life.
