Description
Based on photographs taken at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, this bag shows 2 open waterlily flowers and one bud. The flowers and leaves are painted using metallic paints, on a black background. Quilting has been stitched around the shapes and in the black area.
It is a large bag, great for shopping or to carry the warmer clothes for when the day cools in the evening.
Both the front and back have been quilted, and the bag is lined. The back quilting is wavy lines in multicolours to suit the green fabric. The lining is a similar colour to the pinkish-orange flower on the front.
The bag is 41 cm long x 32 cm wide x 14.5 cm deep. The handles are 48 cm long, each.
All the fabrics and threads are cotton. The paint is a type of acrylic, designed to be permanent on fabric once it has been heat set. As such ironing the bag on a cotton setting is not a problem. A cold wash and then drying in the shade is recommended.
