Natural Lapis Lazuli and Sterling Silver Pendant ~ handcrafted by Karina and Mike of Karmic Star

Lapis Lazuli is a fascinating stone that has been revered throughout history. The ancient Egyptians shaped it into scarabs, amulets, and more for adornment, and ground it into powder for use in medicines and cosmetics. Associated with the Pharoahs, it is believed to hold the energy of the inner royal that lies buried within each of us, and is thought to help you awaken that aspect of yourself.

During the middle ages, Lapis Lazuli powder was used to make Ultramarine, one of the finest and most expensive pigments in Europe at the time. It was particularly esteemed by Renaissance painters for the robes of the Virgin Mary, symbolising purity and status.

This exquisite Lapis Lazuli cabochon is so eye-catching, with tiny specks of golden Pyrite in a rich royal blue background, like little stars sparkling in the evening sky.

Mike has carefully transformed this stone from rough rock into this stunning circular cabochon, then handed it to me to embrace with Australian made, ethically sourced solid 925 Sterling Silver wire. I have oxidised and polished the silver to complete this regal treasure.
