Stardust

These studs have been handmade on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia from .925 sterling silver and recycled silver, copper and brass. After carefully collecting the scraps of metal from my other projects, I heat tiny amounts to form little balls of solid copper, brass and silver. These are then sprinkled with metal dust across circles of Stirling Silver and heated to fuse the metal. I call them "Stardust" because they look like distant constellations or a crater marked moon. The earrings have been treated with a patina and given a brushed finish for a vintage feel.
