A Sleeping Koala, Brought to Life in Clay
Handcrafted in my local studio from richly textured, speckled clay, this ceramic sculpture captures a tender moment of rest — a koala curled into peaceful slumber. The piece was inspired by visits to my local Healesville Sanctuary, where a particular koala, nestled in the crook of a gum tree, seemed to embody the stillness and softness of the Australian bush.
More than a decorative object, this sculpture is a sculpted pause — calm, grounded, and quietly whimsical. Earth-toned slips and gentle contours and textures evoke the warmth of fur and the deep, slow rhythm of an afternoon nap beneath the leaves.
Perfect for a shelf, bedside table, or reading nook, it brings a soothing presence to any space.
As each little sculpture is lovingly crafted by hand, please allow 3–4 weeks for creation, plus postage time.
