Saturn's Return

"Saturn's Return" have been handmade on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia from solid brass and .925 sterling silver. Circles of brass have been cut from solid sheet metal and soldered to handmade silver hoops. The earring has been treated with a patina and given a brushed finish for a vintage feel.

These earrings are part of my 2023 Mixed Metal Collection.

Inspiration:
Saturn's Return is an astrological event that occurs whenever Saturn returns to the same position that is was in when a person was born (about every 30 years).
It is often associated with big life changes, making hard choices, and defining your identity.
I'm on the other side of my first Saturn Return. And I made these earrings to remind myself of the choices I made and why I made them. They are about having courage and remembering hard earned lessons.

These are worn as a stud and are a light earring - weighing about 2g each, perfect for everyday wear.

There is no varnish or wax on these earrings. The metal has been left raw so that the colour may change and develop according to your own individual body chemistry. Each piece will become more personalised as you wear it! However, I will include a small polishing cloth with each purchase so that you can restore the shine whenever you please.
