Washing instructions:
I highly recommend a two-step wash routine that you can do with your washing machine and high quality detergent (Trimat/omo).
- Prewash (your pads by itself) - 40 degrees, 1/2 dose of detergent, 1 hr long cycle.
- Main wash (pads with other items) - 60 degrees, full dose of detergent, 2-3 hour long cycle.
FAQ
What pad should I buy?
If you are an adult that has never used cloth pads before, I really recommend that you start with pads that are 10" long for daytime use, and a 12" long pad for overnight. Wear them, fall in love with them and pay extra attention to the coverage that you actually use. Does your bleed go in a specific direction? Do you need more length to your pad? Do you need less? After some awareness, you'll be able to go from there to be able to completely personalise your period experience.
For a younger girl who is about to start her first period, 8" long pads are a wonderful length to get her started on her journey.
How many should I buy?
At the bare minimum, 6 daytime pads (3 per day) and 2 overnights will be able to get you through a bleed with a wash and dry every 2 days. Ideally you should have enough pads to cover an entire period, with a large enough "rotation" to reduce the wear on each pad. This can look like 15-30 pads in total to ensure that you will have enough to last you an entire lifetime of menstruation.
How long do they last for?
You will get years, and years of unlimited personalised period care. Cloth pads can last up to 10 years of use even if you menstruate every month without fail.
Why do you sell so many shapes?
Everyone who menstruates is different. Some shapes might feel nicer to wear than others, and the coverage offered on each shape may also vary. From a purely aesthetic POV, they are shaped to look beautiful in your pants - you might feel more drawn to curves or straight lines. The whole point is to make your experience so special and unique that you will love and look forward to wearing them every single time you bleed.
