My favourite stones are Spinels.

if you haven’t heard of them they are worth googling.

They have discovered that many of the coloured stones in Crown Jewels around the world, thought to be Rubies, Sapphires and Diamonds, are actually Spinel. They come in an amazing array of colours and have similar hardness to sapphires and emeralds. They sparkle beautifully.

This little pale pink Spinel is lovely. It is about 7 mm in diameter.

The ring itself is large and will fit Size T- V.

I set the stone in a round bezel uaing half round wire for the shank; but I thought it was such a pretty pink, I made it a little skirt.

I will be able to provide more specific information regarding the stone on purchase.

Spinels have skyrocketed in price in the last few years. So it will be something that is topical and of interest to others.
