Each oil-cloth lunchbag is individually hand-made and sewn by the artist, and no two will ever be the same (example only, shown in photographs). They comprise a range of different oil-cloth fabrics on side panels sourced from Australia, UK, Europe and Mexico. The rear panel is red-white gingham which is uniform to all my lunchbags. The front panel comprises specially printed oil-cloth fabrics featuring original ceramic tile artworks and paintings by Australian artist, Jennifer Gadsden. Each lunchbag has a Screaming Girl label stitched into the side panel - Screaming Girl Designs/logo/Made in Mildura, Victoria, Australia. Oil-cloth fabric is wipeable and hand-washable. The idea came about for the lunchbags during lockdowns in Victoria when the artist was unable to get to the pottery club studio due to lockdown restrictions. It was not long after an exhibition at Mildura Arts Centre in 2019, "Nourish", and in order to continue creative work, the artist arranged printing of her artworks onto oil-cloth fabric and created a pattern to make up each lunchbag following some trial and error with prototypes and failed attempts. The red and white gingham became part of the signature look of the lunchbags, and has remained since. Each bag measures approximately 30cm high x 20cm wide x 13cm deep, however may vary slightly due to handmade process. The closure is hook and loop style fastening stitched into the fabric. Each bag is quite generous inside and can fit a sandwich keeper or sealed food container, a piece of fruit, a small drink carton. If working out in the field, a small frozen block could be placed in the bottom of the bag to keep food items cool. The top of the bag closes and is sealed with the hook and loop closure.
