Description

This quilt was so much fun to make - it was a mystery quilt. We were only told the fabric we needed and how to cut them into pieces but not how we would put them together. We turned up to class with little baggies containing the different pieces, then each week we were given further instructions by our lovely teacher Bev Barnes. The fabrics are subtly floral. The colours are similar to my first ever quilt, which I made by hand. This one was machined, but with no less love. The blocks with the rust colour are called 'Churn Dash' - a silly name but I think it refers to the old butter churns. The brown and cream squares are a variation on the standard 9-patch.
The quilt is about 1.95 x 1.80 m, a neat size for a queen bed with some overhang on the sides or a king with less overhang, or great for cuddling up in front of the TV, or tablet. Or cover for a boring or worn lounge.
Washing is easy as the quilt is all cotton - washing machine, cold or warm, then line dry or use a dryer.
