Handmade micro vintage textile journal.
This tiny little hand-stitched vintage textile journal has been lovingly created from the stuffing from a 1920's chaise lounge.
The lounge was being reupholstered and some of the stuffing was made up of small pieces of torn vintage textiles which I rescued.
Each piece of textile has been carefully hand washed, soaked, dried and ironed before being used as pages in layers in this tiny journal.
The majority of the journal is made up of pieces of vintage textile from the lounge that I've carefully and lovingly hand stitched and embellished with vintage cotton & linen threads, vintage lace, ribbons, buttons and beads.
There are some pages made up of 300 gsm watercolour paper, mainly for structure. I have added some vintage mother-of-pearl buttons, some vintage beads and some Swarovski Crystals on the centre dangles.
The journal has been finished off with a hand pieced wrap that has been created from layers of the vintage textiles from the chaise lounge. I have then stitched rows of running stitch in a style similar to kantha embroidery and finished the wrap with a hand stitched tie with 2 vintage mother-of-pearl buttons sewn on the end.
