Canvas french seam wide base tote bag

This bag is made of new cotton canvas, which is more heavy duty than the cotton used for dressmaking and quilting. It is finished neatly with french seams using cotton thread, so at the end of it's long useful life should fully decompose. Meanwhile, it can be washed, mended, patched, even dyed and generally restored, whatever life throws at it. The straps are topstitched then securely attached to the bag with triple stitching. It is not self supporting, so will just fold away like a regular supermarket bag. It doesn't come with a plastic insert for the base, but if you like a base in your bag you can use something you already have or cut out a base from a cardboard box.
