Description
I use magazines and fabric to create fantastical house and garden collages reminiscent of a gingerbread house, or something from Alice in Wonderland with bright, saturated colours.
'Heloise's House' is an original mixed media piece.
44.5cm x 30cm on cartridge paper
I have used a magazine feature, cut out the walls and roof of the house and glued fabric underneath the cut away sections. I build up the garden collage using lots of garden elements from other magazines, creating a completely different look than what was originally in the picture.
Please note, I am selling this piece unframed and without a matt. I have shown the work framed to give an indication of size and how it could look. The matt shown in the 1st pic has an A3 picture opening.
Due to this being an original piece, the paper is not completely flat, and you can sometimes faintly see writing from the other side of the magazine image. However, I believe these imperfections add to the charm of each piece, as you can see how I have pieced it together.
As this is magazine paper and fabric, it is not lightfast so should not be placed in direct sunlight.
Postage:
I post original art in sealable clear plastic envelopes to keep the artwork clean and dry, with 700gsm backing board inside a rigid carboard mailer.
I use Sendle couriers exclusively.
