Freddy owl would love to come and live with you.

I love to create unique pieces from upcycled items. The pieces I make are all unique. I source materials from op shops and garage sales, I love to upcycle items most would throw away.

I pick the piece for the body first, this determines the size of the base I would need to make. The base is made from reclaimed timber. I start with the owls eyes first, these are made up of 3 to 5 layers, drilled and riveting them together and I use silicone to fix the glass gem centre. Then the wings, pre-cut from tin cans and left outside to rust. The beak and claws are forks and spoons, I cut the handles off. The handles are used above the eyes.

The only things I buy new are the glass gems and the things I use to make them, silicone, nails, screws etc. All the other components for the piece are upcycled. Hopefully making something unique and quirky out of junk that would otherwise go to waste.

Upcycled from a sauce pan lid and various other bits and bobs and mounted on a reclaimed wood base, full of character.

I love creating these owls each one has a character all of their own. Each one unique.

These will rust more over time if outside.
