Description
'Christmas Dining at Skye McAlpine's' is an original gouache painting based on a magazine feature on the food writer's home in the English Home magazine in January 2024.
In the original feature, the dining table and kitchen are next to each other, and I decided I'd like to combine the two to capture both where the food is cooked and the table where everyone gathers to eat in one image. I added some details like the paper chains and changed some little details from Skye's real rooms.
This piece is A3 in size (painted right up to the edge of the paper)
I used Unipin fineliner for outlining, Winsor and Newton gouache, a little Winsor and Newton gold ink for the fairy lights on the tree, and a little Posca paint pen in white and ivory for some highlights, on Arches 300gsm cold press watercolour paper.
Please note this piece comes unframed and unmatted. The paper size is perfect for standard A3 picture opening matt, as is pictured in the first image.
As this is an original piece, it should be kept out of direct sunlight to protect from fading.

Comes in sealable clear plastic envelope, with backing boards on both sides for extra protection inside a rigid cardboard mailer.
