Description

Proudly printed in Melbourne on 100% recycled paper, these greeting cards feature original artwork by Brona Sparkes.

The artworks were created in acrylics on canvas or coloured pencil on paper, before being photographed and incorporated into the original card design. Inside, the card includes a short note about the artwork's, but is otherwise blank for your personal message.

CELTIC SHIELD KNOT
The note inside the Celtic Shield Knot card reads:
”The cover artwork is based on the Celtic Shield Knot, an ancient symbol displayed on shields and on battlefields to ward off enemies, or hung outside homes to protect the inhabitants from evil. The patterns decorating the knot are inspired by the stone carvings of Ireland’s Stone Age tombs.”

PHOENIX RISING
The note inside the Phoenix Rising card reads:
”The mythical Phoenix was consumed by flames, but did not perish - instead it rose from the ashes transformed. The phoenix represents many things across cultures, particularly self-healing, regeneration and new beginnings.”

SUNFLOWERS
The note inside the Sunflower card reads:
”Sunflowers are “heliotropic”, which means that they change their orientation throughout the day to face the sun as it crosses the sky. Aside from being bright and beautiful to look at, sunflowers can also symbolise joy, optimism and loyalty.”

DRAGONFLY 
The note inside the Dragonfly card reads:
”The dragonfly's rare flying abilities allow it to quickly change direction, to hover effortlessly and to fly backwards. This amazing creature can symbolise adaptability and acceptance of change, as well as being associated with self-realisation and emotional understanding.”
