A smooth moss amethyst measuring 14mm, has been carefully wire wrapped by hand by me in gold filled wire.It is a pale amethyst filled with beautiful,natural rutile inclusions.

Moss Amethyst has the alternate names of super seven or melody stone. Its beautiful colour is derived from trace amounts of iron infused in the quartz. Moss amethyst beads get their name from the thread-like inclusions embedded in the clear amethyst gemstones. These “lines” in the beads are called dendritic inclusions because they resemble the branches of a tree or, in this case, delicate pieces of moss trapped inside the stone. The mossy inclusions in amethyst are often tourmaline, another gemstone that comes in many colours and has a crystal structure that looks like thin fingers. The inclusions are usually a smoky brown colour, but can have tinges of yellow gold or copper colour to them.

A simple gold filled chain completes the necklace. You may select either a 42cm ( 16 1/2" ) or 46cm ( 18" ) chain from the drop down menu at the moment of checkout.
