Tell us about your creations and your handmade process.
Tell us a bit about your journey to becoming a handmade artist.
I fell back into the creative space after having my two children. I needed a space where I could have down-time and took up the opportunity to learn pottery, something I had wanted to do for many years. I instantly fell in love with it, and knew it would be more than a hobby. I officially left my corporate career and launched my business a few years later and haven't looked back.
What is your inspiration or where do you find inspiration?
I definitely find inspiration from where I live.
Being so close to the ocean, I am influenced by the coastal tones and I bring this into my pieces.
Where did you learn your craft?
I learnt design at University at Elam School of Arts, and design is definitely an influence to how I design my pieces.
Directly to ceramics, I took a night course to learn the pottery wheel. From there I have taken courses and master classes to develop more and more.
Why is handmade artistry so important to you?
Handmade brings something special. It has a touch of the artist in the piece. It is almost like passing on a piece of yourself for someone else to take up and continue the story.
