With her little wings, long legs and gold lustre beak....\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach whimsical Treasure Keeper Head is handcrafted from clay in my home studio in Wellard, Western Australia. Part bird, part human, each little face has its own quiet personality and curious expression, finished with a shiny lustre beak.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEvery piece is individually hand-built, then carefully painted. Using black underglaze on the bird body, once the clay reaches the perfect leather-hard stage, I use a tiny tool to patiently scratch back every feather, creating the little dotty pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter drying, each Treasure Keeper is fired three times in the kiln:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e • Bisque fired\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e • Glaze fired\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e • A final firing to fuse the gold lustre beak\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe bowl-shaped head is perfect for holding rings, earrings, crystals, tiny keepsakes, or simply sitting on a shelf bringing a little whimsy to your home\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBecause every piece is handmade and painted by hand, no two are ever the same.
