At approximately 48cm across, there’s plenty of room for everything you need for a day out, shopping, lunch with friends or travelling, while the long handles give it an easy, relaxed shoulder drop.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eI handcrafted the tote using \u003cstrong\u003e2mm hollow cotton cord\u003c\/strong\u003e, chosen because it creates wonderful stitch definition and gives the finished bag structure without making it overly rigid. The rich chocolate colour and textured crochet give it a beautifully natural, understated look.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHandmade process\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe entire bag body has been crocheted by hand. I modified the original construction slightly by creating the base with a \u003cstrong\u003efoundation chain\u003c\/strong\u003e, rather than a traditional starting chain, to give this hardworking part of the bag additional strength.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOnce the crochet was complete, I carefully finished and lined the bag by hand.
